THREE-YEAR HIGHER EDUCATION COURSE

The three-year Art Direction Course is now in its 30th year and possesses the merit of having shaped many Advertising professionals who are now Creative Directors in national and international advertising agencies.

Furthermore, throughout the years the students have obtained many important recognitions in advertising campaigns realized for national and international awards, competing against students from creative schools worldwide.

The 3-year full-time Course addresses young people in possession of a high school diploma who wish to acquire knowledge, competences and skills required in order to express their creativity by construction of forms and images aimed at the expression of concepts and a rapid access to the profession.

The Higher Education Course in Art Direction Advertising is a three-year educational path starting each October with compulsory full-time attendance (Monday to Friday)

Competences and skills required to start a career in the Art Direction Advertising field must be acquired through hands-on experience not only books in order to cope with the extremely rapid changes requiring continual updating.

Accademia di Comunicazione, thanks to programs constantly updated according to job market demand and a teaching staff made up of distinguished professionals, offers its students an educational environment where they acquire skills and a problem-solving mindset through a project-oriented methodology.

Live projects by real companies developed in small teams, paired up with creatives, under the guidance of professionals are the core activities throughout the Course.

The Accademia di Comunicazione educational approach is based on the ‘learning by doing’ methodology. That’s why at Accademia the teaching staff is made up exclusively of outstanding professionals in the various fields of Communication: Creative Directors, Art Directors and Visual Communication Experts from the most important Italian and international Agencies.

Professionals transfer available expertise and knowledge while guiding and supervising students in the realization of advertising and communication projects.

During the Course, students participate (and win) in the most important national and international awards with guidance from Italian and English Creative Directors:

ADCI Awards – Italian Art Directors club Award; The One Show College Competition: the New York Art Directors Club Award – The D&AD Student Awards : the British Art Directors Club Award– Spot School Award: The International Mediterranean Award– Young Lions: the Roger Hatchuel Academy Award in Cannes – Future Lions.

The 3-year FT Course in Art Direction Advertising aims at providing participants with a broad body of knowledge and sound professional competences which enable them to manage the integrated marketing communications for brands, products and services. Students develop customer-centric multichannel strategies to meet the new parameters imposed by digital and social media marketing and communication.

The Course’s program is a concrete answer to the demand of the marketing and the communication industry in which skills in the digital field are fundamental. The whole path structure provides the participants with knowledge and specific technical skills and allows immediate entry into the job.

The Course’s goal is to form experts in advertising imagery. It is in fact the Art Director’s job to communicate by choosing from ideal images and diverse realization techniques both traditional and digital at their disposal. To this end the Course aims to pass on all tools needed on which to build a solid image culture and the ability to manipulate their evocative and symbolic value.

At the end of the Course, internships at Companies, Agencies, Associations and Professional Studios are scheduled for each and every student. Internships subsequently turn into proper jobs and the start of their professional career.

Those who attend the three-year post-diploma course in Art Direction may work:

– as Art Directors in Press Agencies

– as Producers in Production Studios

– as Directors

And in all sectors (institutional and digital) today very common for which the skills of an Art Director are required.

Fees are reduced according to family income. There are 6 income brackets.

The requisite needed in order to attend the course is a high school diploma.

An appointment for an admissions interview of mutual acquaintance and motivational assessment must be fixed in order to attend the course.

To allow the students to check whether their professional interest actually concerns

the art direction and to be able to advise them to take this path or not, is delivered the material for a test of creativity to be carried out at home.

The works must then be sent to Accademia di Comunicazione and will receive a detailed comment.

The course issues a certificate of competence which certifies professional qualification in line with the directives and regulations of the EU community.

Competences acquired throughout this course are certified by the Region of Lombardy and are valid within the EU as part of the EUROPEAN QUALIFICATIONS FRAMEWORK FOR LIFELONG LEARNING (EQF). 

Owing to both its history and the quality of the formative method the Course has obtained the patronage of the Italian Art Directors club.
